Social Climber

Look what West did while I was putting in a load of laundry. I was not a fan.

Making Friends With The Man

The Snow Man, that is. West enjoyed the field full of snow men (and women) on top of Mt. Tam. He gave them hugs and kisses (from a distance) and his favorite is not pictured - she had bows in her hair.

Blues Traveler

West found a harmonica in his stocking and hasn't looked back since. He's actually pretty good - kid has quite a slide. Maybe we should have named him Dylan.

Snow Day!

We took advantage of the long weekend and drove up Mt. Tam to take West and Tate to see snow. West  insisted that he saw penguins on the hillsides in Marin and that we were going to see 1) polar bears and 2) Santa. I think he forgot all about that once we got there (the cows and horsies en route helped). Long story short, he had quite a time - even going so far as to blow kisses to the snow when we left. Adorable. I took a lot of pictures and have two words for you: get comfortable. It's not my fault my kid is so darned cute.

Inclement Weather

It's been awfully wet here lately (payback for bragging about our trip to Baker Beach, I'm sure) but the upside is that West gets to break out his bee boots and zebrella. I think we can all agree that everything is cuter with ears - even umbrellas. Fully outfitted for a downpour, he did some serious damage to the puddles in Golden Gate Park. Rain is fun!

Wrapped Up in a Bow

Tate got into the Valentine's Day spirit during his bath tonight. The verdict: real men wear pink.

My Funny Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day all! We are in the thick of spring and West can't get enough of the cherry blossoms in our back yard. I can't say I blame him.

Crab Apple

West starts swim lessons later this week. He's nothing if not prepared.

Skater Boy

Snug as a Bug

I treated myself to a new sling for Christmas and we've been getting a lot of use out of it. It was especially handy during this weekend's Baker Beach extravaganza. Tate snored away while I snapped photos of the kiddos playing and generally whooping it up underneath the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Here He Comes

West loves to come and get me in the backyard - it's one of the only times he asks me to take his picture. Given the cuteness that results, I am happy to comply.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Baker Baker

Nothing says February like a trip to the beach. We organized a play date for West and his buddies Robert, Jordan, Ben, and Rylan at picturesque Baker Beach. There was lots of running, jumping, splashing, and laughing. I took 567 pictures (that is the actual number, not an estimate) and a brilliant time was had by all. Excellent naps followed for all the kiddos. It was an epic morning, worthy of a lengthy post.

Cubist

In keeping with the art theme, I turned Tate loose on some blocks (hand-me-downs, of course - poor neglected second child!). He is darn cute.

En Plein Air

We are enjoying the loveliest string of sunny, 70 degree days. Today we celebrated by moving West's "studio" (aka easel) outside for a finger painting session. Nothing like a little fresh air to stimulate the creative side! West also got to break in his smock - it's French, which means it is automatically fancy. French or not, it didn't last long.

Tea Party

What tea party would be complete without embroidered cars and, um, doughnuts? It's a stretch, I admit. Before long, he'll be devouring the real thing!
