Hold the Applause

We have clapping! On Easter Sunday, West clapped for the first time. I nominate clapping as the cutest thing in the entire world, at least until something cuter comes along. Now we can't get him to stop - he even wakes up clapping. And nothing makes an ordinary breakfast of yogurt and O's (or Aaron coming home late) more special than applause.

Egg Head

Today being Easter morning, West kindly agreed to pose in his Easter outfit - a festive bib and coordinating diaper! He enjoyed his first Easter basket, which comes as no surprise seeing as he made it himself at Maggie's. His scribbles on the construction paper show great promise, I think. And with my art history background, I would know. Tomorrow Mimi arrives in all her splendor. West can't wait and neither can we.

The Professional

We just received the photographs from West's Speesees shoot. There was way too much cuteness to contain in one post but here are the best of the lot! All credit goes to Andrea Scher of Superhero Photo.

Swing Lessons

The swing seems to be growing on West. It helps when he has Mama there to make silly faces and play peek-a-boo and an adapted version of patty-cake. Here is some footage from our latest swing experience.

Octopretzel

West went to his first concert on Saturday - a really fun kids band called Octopretzel. They not only play fun music, they use puppets in their act! The concert was hosted at the Speesees Shoppe in Dogpatch and the Speesees gals took some great photos of the kids rocking out. I've stolen a couple of photos of West from the Speesees blog to share with you - all credit goes to the spectacular Speesees team. West was enthralled with the music ... and the celery.

Dejeuner sur l'Herbe

Today is West's 9th monthaversary and we celebrated a day early with a picnic in the park, Manet-style. West surveyed his surroundings,

started out with a little yoga,

and promptly fled the scene.

He really enjoyed his strawberry.

Then West went exploring - and discovered Aaron!
He climbed on him ...
slobbered him into submission ...
and proclaimed victory!
Then they had some nice quality time together while Aaron plotted his revenge ...
which took the form of tickling! More specifically, a stealth chin attack.

West tried on Daddy's sunglasses,
and enjoyed being tossed up in the air,
and rode home on Aaron's shoulders.
